This stunning Japanese Woodblock Print titled 'Left View of a Bucking Horse' measures 10 1/2 x 14 1/2 inches. The print features adhesive residue and remnants of what appears to be old mounting tape on the top two corners. Yoshijiro Urushibara (1888-1953), also known as Mokuchu, was a prominent Japanese artist who contributed significantly to the revival of color woodblock printing in Britain. After moving to London in 1910, he collaborated with renowned British artist Frank Brangwyn, translating many of Brangwyn's works into exquisite woodblock prints. Urushibara's art exemplifies a unique blend of traditional Japanese techniques and Western aesthetics, focused on floral and equine subjects. This print is pencil-signed by the artist in the lower right margin and features his red seal ('Moku') in the upper right corner.
