This exceptional offering features two sheets from a triptych by the renowned ukiyo-e master Utagawa Kuniyoshi, created circa 1860. Measuring 19 x 14 inches, these impressive panels depict a scene from the kabuki play 'Kanjinchō' (The Subscription List). While they beautifully represent Kuniyoshi's skilled artistry, it is important to note that both sheets exhibit significant age-related issues, including fading colors, especially in reds and purples, and minor voids. Trimming has removed the original margins, and there is notable edge wear. Despite these factors, the historical significance and artistic value of these original prints remain substantial.
