Presented for auction is the vintage Aurora Thunderjet 500 'Wild Ones' XKE Jaguar HO slot car (No. 1356) packaged in its original clear plastic case, which measures 3 x 1 1/2 x 11/2 inches. The tan plastic body is intact, showcasing minor scuffs from use but no visible cracks. However, the underside of the chassis does exhibit considerable green corrosion and oxidation, particularly affecting the copper pickup shoes and metal components, indicating moisture exposure and likely requiring extensive cleaning for operation. The chrome engine detail shows tarnishing, while the wheels and tires reveal noticeable aging and wear. The original packaging is yellowed with age, featuring multiple scratches and faded labels. Despite its current condition, this model is a desirable collector's piece for enthusiasts of vintage slot cars, particularly due to its original, correctly labeled case. A true project car for collectors looking to restore a classic piece of racing history.
