Description

A highly rare example of the Donalson Jockey Cycle, manufactured by J. E. Donalson MFD. Co. in North Kansas City, Missouri, between 1944 and 1948. Only an estimated 100 units of this unique model were produced, making it exceptionally rare. This cycle is notable for its distinct design, consisting of two large rear wheels, a smaller front wheel, and an unconventional propulsion system powered by a foot-operated bar that moves the rear axle crank. Adding to its unique features, the seat moves up and down with the wheels, simulating the sensation of riding a horse. Dimensions are approximately 25 inches high, 37 inches wide, and 18 inches deep. The piece shows signs of significant usage, including wear and a damaged tire, reflecting its age and history. A true collector’s piece that showcases innovative design and craftsmanship from mid-20th-century America.
